Editor's Note

I write to you in CATCH’s 44th Edition in hopes to shed light on the unseen heroes among us who craft, sacrifice and serve. More specifically, they are the Tailors, Knights, and Butlers, the Kingsmen.

I have been brought up to strive for “elite” professions that traditionally boast prestige. But as I am older now, I’ve come to appreciate professionals who garner “unseen” respect.   These people live by the phrase “If not me, then who?”. They strive to pursue their passions or craft in their work or service to others, and may not be acknowledged enough.

For this edition, we attempted to capture the spirit of these individuals. As you read through the section Tailor, I hope you will think of the crafty and patient individuals behind intricately made works. Built from the idea to help men make embrace their individual unique styles, Sharan and Priscilla joined hands and birthed Suit Commune.

When you flip through the section Knight, give thought to the courageous ones who sacrifice themselves in their line of work. See through the eyes of Lieutenant Justin Low and how he serves and protects Singapore as an Air Warfare Officer.

Last but certainly not least, the section Butler shines light on those who are selfless and take joy in serving others. Learn about the thoughtfulness of Amirah Ali, who devotes her livelihood to financially empowering female migrant domestic helpers through Aidha, a non-profit.

We can be more gracious and grateful for the Kingsmen among us. Come along on this journey with us in Catch Edition 44.

Sincerely, Nguyen Minh Long
