$50 A Day Keeps The Empty Wallet Away

$50 A Day Keeps The Empty Wallet Away

Going out with friends usually means spending, but sometimes we can be on a tight budget for the day. Here’s a guide on how to keep the spending to $50 a day whilst still having the best time with your pals

We’ve all experienced the struggle of wanting to go out with friends, but are short on cash. What if I told you that you could enjoy fun activities and amazing food in Singapore with your good pals - all under $50?

Let’s say you’re meeting your buddies with an empty stomach, trying to find lunch together. You can try Wok Hey, my all-time favourite fried rice establishment for lunch. Never judge a book by its cover; the packaging may be small but their serving of fried rice is generous. I was struggling to finish my fried rice but it was definitely worth it. Priced between $6 to $10, it is such a steal!

After a scrumptious lunch, are you looking for some activities to do with your buddies? Stop by Mind Café that has plenty of board games to entertain you and your friends. The best part is its daily rate - $5 per gaming hour with free flow of food and drinks! Talk about budget.

Feeling hunger kicking in too early for dinner? Ditch your regular Starbucks and visit Funan Mall B2. It’s my number one place to munch on snacks like Potato Corner, Tori Q, Bubble tea from $2 onwards and many more. Not to mention, it’s got salted egg fried chicken too!

Let’s settle your last meal of the day: dinner! If you’re looking for a budget-friendly and family-sized meal, You Ma You La is your ideal option. They operate at various outlets including Ang Mo Kio, Woodlands, and recently, Toa Payoh. Don’t expect to pay more than $10! What a nice meal to end the day with your friends.

It’s the end of the day and everything above should have kept your spending within $50 while enjoying a splendid day out with your friends! With this guide, you’ll see that an inexpensive lifestyle is still very much possible in Singapore.
