Amber Beacon Tower

In 1990, a couple was stabbed by two men at the Amber Beacon Tower in East Coast Park. Both were taken to Singapore General Hospital, but the female succumbed to her wounds and died. Till this day, those who pass by the Tower claim to hear the victim’s cry, or catch a glimpse of her spirit.

Scare Factor: 3/5. When we climbed up the Tower, there was a melancholic feeling. However, we did not feel unwelcome. Our camera captured a glowing orb beside the Tower. Could that have been a wandering spirit?

Pasir Ris Bird-Watching Tower

Pasir Ris Tower is infamously known as the “Suicide Tower”. There was once a boy with a “third eye” that could see spirits. He told his friends that he saw something in the tower. When they cycled there, the boy jumped down from the top and died on his way to the hospital. Before his death, he told his friends that he was pushed off by the entities. Today, people claim to see two pontianaks lingering around.

Scare Factor: 5/5. We experienced an unwelcoming aura there. One member felt something watching him in the mangrove swamp next to the tower. Faint smells of frangipani filled the top. It was barely dark out, but the tower was already sending chills down our spines.

Bedok

It is rumoured that a woman took her three-year-old son and jumped off the 25th floor of Bedok Block 99 when she found out about her husband’s mistress. She scrawled, “It’s not over, darling” on a wall with her blood before jumping. Soon after, her husband and his mistress moved in and had another son, who claimed that he was being haunted by his ‘older brother’. This prompted him to jump to his death. His parents found “This is for Mommy” scribbled on a nearby wall.

Scare Factor: 2/5. Block 99 seemed unearthly when we stood underneath it.

Changi Beach

Ironically, this place of relaxation is one of the first few Sook Ching Massacre sites during the Japanese Occupation. 66 Chinese men were gunned down by the Japanese Firing Squad. Those who did not die from the gunfire drowned. All bodies were then recovered and hacked apart by bayonets. Visitors claim to hear gunshots, crying, and wailing sounds till today.

Scare Factor: 1/5. The beach was filled with happy campers and families bonding over barbecue parties. You could check out the World War 2 mural, but the beach itself did not seem to have much paranormal activity...
