4 SUPER Workouts

4 SUPER Workouts

Super strength doesn’t always need to be gained at the gym. Here are a few non-traditional workouts you can try!

Aerial Yoga

Aerial yoga combines traditional asana (physical postures of yoga) and elements of yoga with pilates and dance.

Instead of doing yoga on regular yoga mats, you’ll be performing similar poses on silk fabrics or hammocks to support you through the different stretches.

This will help improve your flexibility and build body strength with less pressure on your shoulders, spine and head. You’ll also be building your upper-body and core strength!

Video Games

If you’re a homebody like me, and prefer working out in the comfort of your own home, fitness games will be perfect for you!

You can try out games that are designed to get you moving like Ring Fit Adventure, Beat Saber and Just Dance.

These active fitness games have been shown to have effects on the body similar to traditional exercises like running.
Exercising through games also incorporates a ‘FUN’ element into your workouts, and will definitely help to take your mind off the exertion.

Spin Class

Now, if you’re looking to squeeze some cardio into your busy schedule, sign yourself up for a spin class!

An indoor cycling (a.k.a ‘spinning’) class combines cardio and endurance into ONE calorie-crunching session. You can expect to see colourful strobe lights, upbeat tunes and energetic instructors. All you need to do is adjust your bike and let the tempo guide your feet!

The best part? You’ll be burning up to 400-600 calories in one 45-minute session! The workout relies on a mix of fast-paced cycling and lighter intervals so you’ll be activating all your muscles, targeting your quads, hamstrings, calves, glutes and even your core.

Bouldering

Try your hand at Bouldering and experience what it’s like to defy gravity.

You’ll be climbing walls that go up to six feet tall and will definitely rock your world! Put your strength to the test by manoeuvring your way up various walls.

The activity builds your arm strength, finger strength, your leg muscles and even helps with body coordination. You should also be prepared to wrack your brain trying to come up with solutions to get to the top of each wall.
