“Respect is cool. Love is cool. Being supportive is cool. Wear local, shop small, and never ever dare to wear fakes,” says GG on what COOL means to her. Only in her early twenties, GG, aka Mai Nhi, aka “Plaaastic”, is a jack of all trades. A dancer at heart, she runs a fashion blog also called Plaaastic, has amazing photography skills, and even has two online stores under her belt! You name it, and she’s likely done it.
She has just launched her new online store Fabulously F*cked, which sells her self-designed clothing, and she is also the co-owner and designer of another store called Nirvana Streetwear. Nirvana Streetwear helps to portray the street dancer and skater side of her while Fabulously F*cked shows the internet addict and cyber side of her.
When asked on how she gets her inspiration for her fun and unconventional designs, she says: “I don't know, it just kind of pops up. Everything in life inspires me, even nothingness.” With her distinctive and extraordinary fashion style, it is no wonder she has 354k followers on her Instagram account, which she uses to communicate with her followers.
Grateful for her followers' never-ending support on how she expresses herself, she uses it as a gateway to express her originality and deep passion for art through her thoughts and feelings. “If everyone hates it, I will do the exact same thing anyway. But they like it though, so that's great,” she says with a laugh.
Her take on going beyond the boundaries of fashion and just being true to herself? She says: “If you don't express yourself, scream and shout and let the whole world know what you have earned, what you like or what you deserve, you will never get the chance to achieve something you want in life that you can truly look at and be proud of.”
